Deborah Warden

ACUPUNCTURE

Deborah is an acupuncturist with over a decade of experience who finds great reward in helping people overcome illness and reach a vibrant level of health.

She has had success using acupuncture to treat a range of conditions including digestive problems, IBS, gynaecological issues, fertility and IVF, musculoskeletal and joint conditions, lower back pain, auto-immune disorders, headaches, respiratory conditions, migraines, insomnia, menopausal issues, irregular menstrual cycles, tinnitus and allergies such as hay fever. A growing area of specialism is treating emotional disorders such as stress, anxiety and depression.

Deborah has a keen interest in helping women who are trying to conceive either naturally or through IVF treatment. In addition to providing pregnancy support, including help with morning sickness, encouraging breech babies to turn and labour to commence, she is also trained to treat conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, unexplained miscarriage and menstrual issues. She is also a member of the London Acupuncture Childbirth Team (London ACT).

Tailoring her treatment method from patient to patient she undertakes a full medical history including body diagnosis, reviews life style and diet, then combines this with her training in Stems & Branches, classical acupuncture and the more contemporary Five Element acupuncture theory for the best outcome.

Treatments look to address the underlying constitution and all aspects of the individual, as well as the presenting signs and symptoms, in order to promote optimal wellbeing and limit reoccurrence. As well as frequently using moxibustion in her treatments she will also give nutritional advice within the parameters of Chinese Medicine.

Deborah’s practice has been strongly influenced by own her personal recovery, with the aid of acupuncture, from a serious sporting accident several years ago. As a fully qualified massage therapist, she also combines massage with acupuncture, where appropriate, to achieve the best results.

Deborah has been awarded a BSc (Hons) Acupuncture degree by the University of Greenwich and a Licentiate in Acupuncture (Lic Ac) by the International College of Oriental Medicine.

MASSAGES AND ACUPUNCTURE & MASSAGE COMBO

Deborah is an ITEC massage therapist and holds additional certificates in Pregnancy, Swedish and Deep Tissue massage. She is an expert on effective pain relief and aims to use her experience and combined skills to create a relaxing and nurturing environment for your body and mind to heal and revitalize.

She prides herself on helping clients get freedom from whatever ails them, be it RSI, headaches, upper and lower back pain or stress from everyday life. She loves to facilitate a space to totally unwind, restore and switch off from a busy life style.

Deborah believes in the power of massage and how it can offer an incredible inner-journey to reconnect body and mind. Her specialisms are (chronic) pain relief through either deep tissue or a combination of acupuncture & massage which goes really deep, and pregnancy massage.

By focusing on the individual and using a range of techniques specifically developed for treating pregnancy related conditions, women report that they feel more energized, sleep better and have relief from pain following the massage. Following the birth of the baby a post-partum massage is tailored to help restore your body to its pre-partum condition. It addresses the stress of carrying and caring for a newborn. It can help speed recovery by bringing relief of sore muscles and help you to relax more easily.

Pregnancy massage is performed in side-lying position, with bolsters and cushions for ultimate comfort. The Acupuncture & Massage combination is particularly good for sufferers of back or shoulder pain, or for individuals suffering with ingrained muscular issues anywhere in the body. It’s also a great combination to combat migraines or assist those suffering with anxiety or emotional turbulence.

Within the treatment, moxa (dried mugwort) which is a Chinese herb may be used. The moxa is applied to the end of acupuncture needles or used in a stick and is burnt to send heat into the body to further relieve symptoms.
